Rich, Robust & Naturally Decaffeinated
Café Femenino Decaf is certified Fair Trade, organic and decaffeinated without chemicals using the Water Process.
Like all decaffeinated beans, the Café Femenino Decaf presents much darker than its roast level. When you brew these beans, you'll enjoy a medium-dark roasted cup. In addition to making an excellent decaf drip coffee option, our Café Femenino Decaf makes a fine decaf espresso.
The women of CECANOR are proud to be the originators of the Café Femenino concept. While women have always been crucial to coffee production in Peru, men traditionally held the economic power. In 2004, 464 female coffee producers in Peru united to change this dynamic and take a step toward empowerment by creating the first Café Femenino co-op. Now, they feel proud to instill in their daughters the expectation that they will grow up to become leaders in their community—just like their mothers and grandmothers.
When you choose Café Femenino Coffee, you choose a brand that provides leadership opportunities and ownership rights to women coffee farmers like those of the CESMACH Cooperative.

CURATOR'S NOTE:
Giving women their fair share: The women farmers who produce Café Femenino Coffee are paid directly for the coffee they produce:
Cafe Femenino pays a 2¢ premium (per pound) over Fair Trade prices directly to the women coffee growers participating in the Café Femenino Program.
For each pound of coffee purchased, 5¢ is donated to the Café Femenino Foundation. All monies are paid directly to the women who produced the coffee, and they are empowered to use it any way they wish.
